Freya Harwood Bond is a formalist artist working predominantly in mixed media collage. Almost all materials used are found and this process is then followed by a similar process of seeking within the found for relevance and meaning. Each tiny piece must serve an honest purpose and become part of the cathartic process of liberating the unspeakable. There are stages of addition followed by erasure which is then repeated and it is usually very difficult to find an end point within this. The outcome is not pre-determined it is merely a bi-product of the process.

Alongside personal work Bond has been running an art studio and exhibition space in Seven Sisters, Frigg Studio, for the last few years and has recently become the co-director and curator of Red Door Studios, a community led art studio and event space in East Ham. Together with Leanta Coraleen she will be organising art exhibitions, community workshops and events.
